‘Sword Art Online’: Learn about Cyber Security in Akihabara

Every year, the Japanese government tries to raise awareness on cyber security during the ‘month of cyber security.’ They will hold a 2-day event on March 4-5, 2017 at the Belle Salle Akihabara in Tokyo called ‘Cyber Kougeki wo Mokugeki Seyo! 2017; (See Cyber Attacks With Your Own Eyes!). This year, the project will be tied up with Sword Art Online -Ordinal Scale- and will hold various events connected to the movie.

At the opening on April 4, 2017,  Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (the voice of Kirito, the main character of Sword Art Online) will appear on stage. Microsoft will hold various lectures about ‘The future of HoloLens and MR (Mixed Reality),’ and the IPA (Information-Technology Promotion Agency) will talk about computer viruses, smartphone hackers, and more.

On the second day, Bandai Namco Entertainment will present the development team of Sword Art Online. They will explain everything about their game called ‘AI Premia.’ IBM Japan will also present behind-the-scenes stories from the virtual reality game Sword Art Online the Beginning.

Original SAO creator Reki Kawahara, the director of the anime Tomohiko Ito, and the character designer Shingo Adachi will also participate in a talk event. The main topic will be cyber security, but it will include topics related to SAO, such as the future of VR and AR. The event will hold two very interesting days.

You can also look forward to the exhibition booth at the venue, where the NerveGear prototype alpha test which was used in Sword Art Online the Beginning will be demonstrated. At the Microsoft booth you can experience the HoloLens. The Namco Bandai Entertainment booth is related to AI and it will be possible to view the newest technology.

Visitors of the event will receive an official sub-story of Sword Art Online, drawn specifically for this event by Kiseki Himura. SAO fans shouldn’t miss this event.
